 Description:

What is color? How do we use it to create art or elicit emotion or communicate? How do colors relate to each other? This class is designed to teach the fundamentals of color using basic color theory. We will mix colors and learn how to use a basic palette. We will talk about how pigments are made, how we perceive color, and how art is created using the properties of color - hue, tone, tint, value, temperature, and value.

This is an informative, experiential, interactive course, and fun too. Students will leave with an understanding of how color is used in art, advertising and marketing as well as learning a way to see and navigate their world with new eyes.
